A. ADVERBIAL PHRASES OF PURPOSE:

B. ADVERBIAL CLAUSES OF PURPOSE :

S + V(present tenses)+ so that + S + will / can / may (not ) + V ( bare - inf )
in order that adverbial clause of purpose
Past purpose :

So that / in order that are used to express purpose , to say why we do things.
Notes :
We can turn a clause of purpose into a phrase
of purpose when its subject is the same as the
one of main clause.
