Van Cao Musician was born on November 15, 1923 in Nam Dinh. He grew up in a poor workers family. He started composing music when he was very young. His first song was written in 1939 and he quickly became famous. Tien Quan Ca was composed in 1944 and it became our National Anthem.

Van Cao died in 1995. He was known as a very talented musician and highly appreciated by the Vietnamese people.
