Examples:

TO + INFINITIVE
* Function:
“to” indicates the purpose : Chỉ mục đích
( usually is used to answer the question:
“What… for?” or “Why” )
* Form:
To + infinitive
Meaning: để làm gì
= so as to + infinitive
= in order to + infinitive
Ex : I learn English to sing English songs.
so as to sing
in order to sing

To –infinitive is used to express the purpose.
To- infinitive can be placed at the beginning or at the end of a sentence.
“In order not to+ infinitive” is the negative of “to+ infinitive.”
Eg:1- We learn hard to get good marks.
2- He leaves in order not to be late for school.
Exercise 1: Work in pairs. Use the words in brackets to answer the questions.
