● defeat (v.) (more formal than beat)
The team have never been defeated.
● win (v.) # lose /lu:z/
A lost 3-0 to B.
A won 6-5 against B.
● draw (v.) (drew / drawn) (with sb / against sb) = finish a game without either team winning
A drew 3-3 with B. = A and B drew 3-3.
● 1- 0: one –nil ● 1- 1: a draw, one all
● 4- 2: four-two
