New Yorkers, short stories of human interest, is written by O. Henry. The story is, of course, set in New York, where a housewife, a tramp, a lawyer, a waitress, an actress – ordinary people living ordinary lives there at the beginning of the century. The city has changed greatly since that time, but its people are much the same. Some are rich, some are poor, some are happy, some are sad, some have found love, some are looking for love. O. Henry’s famous short stories – sensitive, funny, sympathetic – give us vivid pictures of the everyday lives of these New Yorkers.

The city has changed greatly since that time, but its people are much the same. Some are rich, some are poor, some are happy, some are sad, some have found love, some are looking for love. New Yorkers is really a sensitive, funny, and sympathetic story. It gives us vivid pictures of the everyday lives of these New Yorkers.

II. New Lesson:
Task 1:
- GV giôùi thieäu vaø höôùng daãn caùch laøm.
- HS laøm vieäc theo nhoùm vaø gheùp caùc caâu vaøo vò trí ñuùng.
- GV ñi quanh ñeå giuùp ñôõ vaø ñöa ra ñaùp aùn ñuùng.
- Task 2:
- GV ñaët caùc caâu hoûi gôïi yù ( Would you like to read the book? ……) ñeå giôùi thieäu taùc phaåm New Yorkers cuûa O. Henry.
- GV cung caáp maãu cho hoaït ñoäng vieát baèng caùch phaùt phieáu baøi taäp cho töøng HS.
