What does the carbon footprint mean?
-It’s about the negative effects we have on the environment
1/ Answer the questions below with a number from 1 to 4 .
How big is your carbon footprint ?
1 = always
2 = often
3 = sometimes
4 = never
take showers
walk or ride a bike
use public transport
use a hand fan
use low energy light bulbs
turn off the lights
only use as much water as you need
only use a little electricity at home
use biogas for cooking at home
go to school by bike
take showers instead of baths
A: How often do you take showers instead of baths ?
B: I always take showers instead of baths.
Work in pairs: Ask and answer the questions.
1= always 2= often
3= sometimes 4= never
2/ Add up each other’s answers and look up the score below.
3/ Talk about your partner’s carbon footprint to your group. Use the following prompts.

3/ Talk about your partner’s carbon footprint to your group. Use the following prompts.
My partner’s carbon footprint is quite big . He is not considerate because he never takes showers instead of baths .He could try harder to takes showers instead of baths. By doing this in the future , he can help to save energy.

My partner’s carbon footprint is small . He is considerate because he often uses a hand fan to keep cool in summer and he usually goes to school by bike . By doing this in the future he can help to save energy and protect the environment.
My partner’s carbon footprint is quite small . He is considerate because he always uses low energy light bilbs and he usually goes to school by bike . By doing this in the future he can help to save energy and reduce air pollution.
