‘Memorizing Game’
- Our class is divided into two teams: A and B.
- Look at this picture in 30 seconds, trying to remember as many details as possible. Then I will ask you five questions about it. Who answers correctly and faster is the winner.
- Are you ready?
1. What type of house do you think it is?
It’s a villa.
2. Where do you think the house is?
On the ocean.
3. What can you see on the roof of the house?
A helicopter.
4. What can you see around the house?
Trees, a garden, a swimming pool, …
5. What can you see in the house?
Robots in the kitchen, a TV, a computer, a hi-fi stereo, … in the living room.

My future house will be on the ocean. It will be surrounded by tall trees and blue sea. There will be a swimming pool in front and a large flower garden behind the house. There will be a helicopter on the roof so that I can fly to school.
My future house will have solar energy. There will be some robots in the house. They will help me do the housework, such as: cleaning the floors, cooking meals, washing clothes, watering the flowers and feeding the dogs and cats.
I will have a super smart TV in my house. It will help me surf the Internet, send and receive my e-mails, and contact my friends on other planets. It will also help me order food from the supermarket.
3. Read the text and match the phrases in A with the correct ones in B.

4. Work in pairs. On a piece of paper, draw your
future house (don’t show your partner). Describe your house to your partner. Your partner will draw the house you describe.

My house will be on the Moon. It will be large
and comfortable.
There is a small flower garden in front of the house. There is a rocking chair under a big tree behind my house where I comfortably read books or listening to music. There is also a lake near my house, so I might go swimming with my friends there at weekend.
My house will be in the countryside. It is a big house with 6 rooms. It is surrounded by tall trees.
More example:
It is surrounded by the sea, so it is always cool all year round. I can enjoy fresh air. I might go swimming and sunbathe on the white sand beaches all the time there. I might have a luxury yacht to travel on the sea with friends on fine days.
My house will be by the sea. It is a small house with 3 rooms. It is on a rock emerging from the shore.
More example:
Now work in pairs. You will have 10 minutes to describe your house to your partner. Your partner will draw the house according to your description. Then change role when finishing.
Present your outputs to the class.
