National Park is a natural area of land or sea, designated to :
Protect the ecological integrity of one or more ecosystems for present and future generations.
Exclude exploitation or inimical occupation to the purposes of designation of the area.
Provide a foundation for spiritual,
scientific, educational, recreational and visitor opportunities, all of which must be environmentally and culturally compatible.

Cuc Phuong is the first national park in Viet Nam which was established in July, 1962.
It is located 120 km South-West of Hanoi on 22,200 ha of rainforest.
Cuc Phuong is situated in the foothills of northern Annamite Mountains. The national park consists of verdant karst mountains and lush valleys.

Inhabitants of the park include:
97 mammal species
300 bird species
36 reptilian species
17 amphibian species
11 fish species
Thousands of insect species
FLORA
Flora includes multi-layered canopy; flowers including orchids; ferns with amazingly tall leaves.
Especially, the century- old tree whose foot is beyond the hold of 16 people and the 70 m-tall with invisible top and enshrouded foliage.
2. Chu Yang Sin National Park
Chu Yang Sin National Park lies on the border of Lak and Krong Bong districts, 60km southeast of Buon Ma Thuot City.
Chu Yang Sin National Park hides many interesting things. Its unique and diverse natural resources attract both tourists and researchers.
Chu Yang Sin National Park covers an area of 59,667ha, with tropical climate.
The topography has many slopes, facilitating varieties of forests with diversified flora and fauna, of which 44 species are rare and precious animals listed on Vietnam`s Red Book.
3. Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park was the first national park in the world which was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1st, 1872.
It is located in the U.S.State of Wyomingan with an area of 8,980 km2 comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges.

Yellowstone National Park is the centerpiece of 80,937 km2 Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
FLORA
The estimated 8,000 examples of this rare flowering plant all make their home in the sandy soils on the shores of Yellowstone Lake, well above the waterline.
FAUNA
Yellowstone is widely considered to be the finest megafauna wildlife habitat in the lower 48 states. There are almost 60 species of mammals in the park, including the endangered animals.

4. Kakadu National Park
Kakadu National Park (North Australia) covers an area of 12,432 km2 in northern Australia.
The park was established in 1979 to preserve the culture of Aborigines and maintain a good balance in ecology.
Kakadu National Park was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Kakadu was listed in three stages: Stage 1 in 1981, Stage 2 in 1987, and the entire Park in 1992.
FLORA
Kakadu`s flora is among the richest in northern Australia with more than 1700 plant species recorded which is a result of the Park`s geological, landform and habitat diversity.
The diverse environments of Kakadu National Park support an astonishing array of animals, a number of which have adapted to particular habitats.
Some animals in the Park are rare, endangered, vulnerable orendemic.
Fauna in the park includes:
60 mammal species
280 bird species
117 reptilian species
25 frog species
53 freshwater
fish species
10 000 insect species
5. Grand Canyon National Park
Grand Canyon National Park (USA), established in 1919, covers 4,931 km2 in northwestern Arizona.
UNESCO has declared it as a World Heritage Site.
The north rim of the canyon has an average annual rainfall of about 660 mm while the south rim has only about 400 mm.
The north rim has much colder than the south rim does because it is 365 meters higher than the south rim.
III. WARNING
Keep rare animals in their natural habitat.
Ban wildlife poaching and trading.
Control the cutting down of trees.
Grow trees for wood.
Usually count, monitor, update the evolution of forest resources.
IV. SOLUTION
Make regular patrols in important places.
Organize classes to educate people on the importance of National Parks , enhance the sense of protecting forests and conserving biodiversity.
Create replacement income for residents who often earn their living in the area of National Park.
