- The sound /p / is read strongly
- The sound / b / is read the same as ‘ b ’ in Vietnamese.
Note: - khi /b/ đứng sau m thì b không đc phát âm.
Ex: + comb / kΛm /

+ bomb / bom /
/p/ k phát âm khi từ bắt đầu bằng “ S ” or “ N ”
Ex: + Pneumatic / nju:’maetik / ( thần linh, tinh thần... )

THE PASSIVE VOICE
The PASSIVE VOICE
( thể bị động )
* FORM:
tobe + V3/ed
Active: S + V + O
Passive: S + be + V3/ed + by + O
Example: + The cat catch a mouse.
=> A mouse is caught by the cat.
EXERCISE 1:
Choose the right form of the verbs in brackets
1. The children ( reported / were reported) to be homeless.
2. Trees ( grow / are grown ) well in this soil.
3. Can English ( be spoken / speak ) at the club.
4. I (don’t invite / am not invited ) to the parties very often.
