A, The Past Simple:
Cấu tạo: Verb_ed - did not / didn’t + Verb - Did……..Verb?
động từ bất quy tắc(irregular verbs): VD: - have  had; - be were /was
Sử dụng: thì quá khứ đơn dùng để:
1, Hành động đã xảy ra và kết thúc trong quá khứ, thường có thời điểm, tình huống rõ rệt.
Ex: I received her letter 2 days ago.
2, Kể lại các sự việc xảy ra trong quá khứ theo trình tự thời gian.
Ex: He came here, asked for some money but we refused, so he left without saying goodbye.
3, Chỉ thói quen, tình huống trong quá khứ, không còn tiếp diễn ở hiện tại. (thường dùng Used to + Verb)
Ex: When I was ten, I used to have long hair.
4, Ngoài ra, thì qua khứ đơn còn được dùng trong câu điều kiện không có thực ở hiện tại, hay sau WISH, AS IF, It’s time, …
Ex: If I had money, I would send my my children abroad
I wish I had more time for learning.
It’s high time we went home.
Trạng từ đi kèm: yesterday (morning/ afternoon/ evening), last (night/ week/ month/ year), a week/ a month…. + ago, at first, then, and then, later, in the end, finally, …

- NV: Were + ……….+ V-ing? Was + ……..+ V-ing?
