How do families affect individuals or their members?
How does each member contribute to his or her family?
Look at these picture below and then answer the questions:
What are the differences between the two pictures in terms of

Number of generations
Who they are.
Extended family
Nuclear family
Patterns of family have diversified considerably. Nowadays we have:
Extended family
Nuclear family
Single parent family
Childless family
Others
Definitions:
Nuclear family: the mother, father, sisters, and brothers.
Extended family: the family members of a nuclear and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
Single parent family: only one parent and children
Childless family: couples living together without any child
Whichever kind of family it can be,
there are advantages and disadvantages.
→ In your opinions, what do you like or hate most when you are with your family and when you are not?
Work in pairs to fill in the chart
Privacy is disturbed.
Responsibility of supporting family is not shared.
Grandparents, their children and grandparents live happily.
Housework is not much.
Responsibility can be shared, housework is more easy.
