LOOKINGBACK: Vocabulary
1. Check vocabulary
- There are some pictures about the natural disasters
On the screen.
- One student comes to the board and stand back.
- The others look at the screen and discribe the pictures in English about the natural disaster.
- Student standing on the board has to give the correct name of the natural disaster.
- If student standing on the board has the correct answer, he/she can point another to come to the board and practice the same.

LOOKINGBACK: Grammar
1. Mr Smith will collect the tickets
2. The students put on a play at the end of term.
3. Jim is always late for work.
4. Julie took the message.
5. A local artist painted the picture.
6. They arrived at the theatre at 8.30 p.m.
The tickets will be collected (by Mr Smith)
A play was put on (by the students) at the end of term.
The message was taken (by Julie)
The picture was painted by a local artist.
1. Passive voice
The sentence can`t be written in the passive because its main verb arrive isn`t a transitive verb
The sentence can`t be written in the passive because its main verb is isn`t a transitive verb
2. Write
Imagine one bad thing that happened to you yesterday, and write them down.
Eg:
- Someone stole my bike.
- My sister broke my computer.
......
Work in groups. Add time clauses to your sentences as the following examples
Eg:
When I woke up yesterday, someone had stolen my bike.
When I got home yesterday, mysister had broken my computer.
providing (food/medical...) supplies
clearing up debris
setting up temporary accommodation
freeing trapped people
repairing houses
evacuating the village..... to a safe place
