Mid-Autumn Festival
There are a lot of festivals in Viet Nam such as: boat racing , buffalo-fighting , folk-song singing , ect. But now Iam going to tell you about the Mid-Autumn festival.
Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most popular festivals and is a traditional festival for Vietnamese children. It is celebrated on 15th of August the Lunar Month which is a brightest and roundest moon night. It is held for children in all village in Viet Nam. Mid- Autumn Festival originates from the rice civilization of the Red River Delta, over 4000 years ago to thank the rice God for the summer harvest and pray for better next harvest. But nowadays, Mid- Autumn festival is an opportunity for families gather and share everything.
On this day, adults and parents prepare a variety of food: moon cakes , candies , ,biscuits , jellies , grapefruit,…for children. A lot of families eat their dinner outside in the open air and they eats moon cakes after dinner.
Moon cakes are the symbols of Mid-Autumn Festival. They are small round cakes with meats, eggs, nuts or something sweet inside. They are really delicious.
All children are excited to join some activities such as watching the lion dance, making lantern for Lantern parade, singing Mid-Autumn Festival or listening the story of Chang`e (Ch? H?ng) and the legend of Cuoi.
Mid-Autumn Festival is a important and famous festival for Vietnamese because it shows the cultural richness of my country. I am sure it will be a best-known festival throughout the world.
Let’s sing with me.
GOODBYE
SEE YOU AGAIN
