Five –coloured sticky rice
Five- coloured sticky rice is an important traditional dish of many ethic minorities in the northern mountainous regions. The name of the dish comes from the fact that it has five colours: Red, yellow, green, purple and white.
OBJECTIVE
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Listen for specific information about a traditional dish
Write recipe for a traditional dish
Develop Ss’ listening and writing skills

-Sticky rice : 500g
Gac seek 200g
Sugar: 4tsp Salt
White wine: 4tbsp
Coconut milk: 5tbsp.
Shredded Coconut: 50g
Soak sticky rice – water-six to eight hours
rinse rice –drain
3. Add the white wine + Gac seek – mix well
4. Mix the sticky rice / the gac seeks/ some salt , wait- 10 mins
5. Steam – 30mins – check cooked
6. Serve

This delicious dish is very easy to make . First , you need to soak the sticky rice in water for at least six hours ……………
1. rinse rice –drain /well .

1. Then rinse the rice and drain it well .

2. Add/ White wine/the”gac”seed/some salt / mix/well . Wait /10 minutes
2. Next, add the white wine to the “gac” seeds. Then, mix the sticky rice, the “gac” seeds and some salt together and wait for 10 minutes.

3. steam– mix well/ 30 minutes
4. sugar / Coconut milk/ . check that it/ fully cooked
5. you/ serve /dish / shredded Coconut .
5. You can serve this delicious dish with some shredded Coconut.
3.The next step is to steam the mixture for at least 30 minutes
4.Remember to check if it is fully cooked before mixing in the sugar and Coconut milk.
2- Cooking steps
How to make red sticky rice-” XÔI GẤC”
It is very simple to make “ Xoi Gac”
First, You need to soak the sticky rice in water. After 6 to 8 hours, drain the rice well. Next, add the white wine to the “gac” seeds before you squeeze them tightly. Then, mix the sticky rice, the “gac” seeds and some salt together thoroughly and wait for 10 minutes.
The next step is to steam the mixture for at least 30 minutes
Remember to check if it is fully cooked before gently mixing in the sugar and Coconut milk. After steaming it for 5 minutes. You now can serve this delicious dish with some shredded Coconut.
