CONSOLIDATION


Aims: help students remember the important grammar points. (Tenses)
Content:
I. Consolidation:
The Simple Present tense:
Form: S + V(s/es)
Use: To indicate regular or habitual action. (Adverbs: often, always, every…)
EX: John walks to school everyday.
The Present Progressive tense:
Form: S + am / is / are + V-ing
Use: To indicate present time. (Adverbs: now, at present, at the moment, at this time …)
EX: John is eating dinner now . – We are writing at the moment.
The Simple Past tense:
Form: S + V2 /Ved
Use: To indicate an completed action that happened at one specific time in the past. (Adverbs: last…, … ago, yesterday, in 1997 …)
EX: John went to Spain last year.
The Simple Future tense:
Form: S + will / shall + V-infinitive
Use: To indicate future certainty (Adverbs: tonight, tomorrow, next, …)
EX: John will leave in January.
II. Introduce the content of textbook:

Lesson 1 : GETTING STARTED
LISTEN AND READ

Aim : Reading for details a conversation and revision of simple present and simple past tense.
Objectives : At the end of the lesson, students will be able to know about Hoa - Lan and Nien, and to review the simple present - simple past tense.
Teaching aids : Pictures, Cards, cassette player.
Language contents :
- Structures: The simple present to talk about general truth
(not ) + Adj + enough + to_inf.
- Vocabulary seem, next-door neighbor, enough, look like....
Techniques : Presentation dialogue, Asking and answering drill.
Procedures
Teacher & Sts’ activities
Contents

1. Getting started : (5mins)
- Ask Sts the activities that they like to play in their free time.
- Sts ask and answer the activities in the pictures.
2. Presentation: (5mins)
Show the picture of Hoa and Lan to introduce the dialogue by asking some questions about Hoa.
3. Pre-teach: (7mins)
- Sts listen to the tape once.
T pick out some keywords and explain.

4. Practice: (15mins) (example)
- Sts listen and repeat the dialogue/ after the tape.
- Practice the dialogue in pair/ One or two pairs do it front of the class.
+ Silent reading : to prepare for answering the questions ( a-d)
* Question: (8mins) Work in pair (whole class)
- Some pair do in front of class.
- T correct the mistake.
5. Production: (5mins)
- Sts talk about person they like best ( their close friends or teacher..)
6. Home work:

I often play soccer.
I sometime play chess with my friends.
What are they doing ?
They are playing chess / soccer / volleyball...
Listen and read:
- Who is Hoa?
- Where is she from?
- Who does she live with now?
Vocabulary:


- seem (v):
- next-door neighbor (n)
- look like (v) - Ex: What does she look like?
She is beautiful.

She wasn’t old enough to be in my class

Key:
