What is an Informal Letter?
It is a letter that is written in a personal fashion (not a formal letter in professional relationships or business). You can write informal letters to close relationships such as relatives or friends
Informal letter of invitation
We should mention the following seven elements:
1. address
2. date
3. opening
4. body / main content
5. closing / ending
6. signature
7. Postscript ( P.S: tái bút)
Informal letter of invitation
1. Address:
We should write down your own/ personal address or receiver’s address:
- Own/ Personal address: At the top right of the letter/ page
- Receiver’s address: At the top left of the letter/ page or on the front of the envelope

2. Date:
The date is usually located below your own address
Example:
American letter: November 12, 2017
English letter: 12 November, 2017

3. Opening:
Examples: Dear David,/ Hi David,
I’m happy to hear (that)….
How are you?
How have you been?
How is life treating you?
How are the kids?
I hope you are doing well
I hope you, Mike, and the kids are having a great time in. . .

4. Main contents:
- If we write 3 paragraphs, we should follow:
In the first paragraph of your body, you should state your reason for writing.
In the second paragraph and following paragraphs, expand on what you mentioned in the first paragraph.
In the final paragraphs, you can make some concluding remarks ( tạo sự chú ý bao gồm trong đoạn).
- If we write in short, we should only focus on
the main contents in one paragraph. It’s ok.

5. Closing/ Ending:
Closing sentences examples:
(I am) looking forward to seeing you (there).
I can`t wait to see you soon.
I can`t wait to hear from you.
I am looking forward to hearing from you, I hope to be hearing from you soon.
See you soon.
Send my love to. . .
I hope you are doing well.
Give my regards to. . .

6. Signature:
In terms of signing off, the choice is yours and you have a lot of freedom here. Here are some examples:
- Cheers,
- Best wishes,
- Best,
- Kindly,
- Kind regards,
- Best regards,
- Lots of love,
- Love,
