The concept of the
Renaissance
a French word means rebirth or fresh beginning
Describing the period of European history from the early 14th to the late 16th century
Describing the intellectual and economic changes that artistic, social, scientific, political thought turned in new directions

Factors leading to the Renaissance
Workers and Wages
The Black Death caused the shortage of workers. The workers had higher wages meanwhile the prizes of goods reduced. There fore, many workers could bought bigger houses and finer closes.
Science and Religion
- Religion: trying to prevent another disaster by renewing their faith in the Church
- Science: developing a new way of looking at the world. It was a non-religious way of looking at nature, humans, philosophy and art
The Plague
The Black Death, an epidemic of plague in Europe that lasted from 1347 to 1351, resulted in the deaths of almost 1/2 of Europe’s population
