Many people cried when they read the stories and called him an “idol” or a “hero” of the real life.
A reader from quangtam@ … wrote that he was born in the early 70s. For many years he only knew about Nguyen Ngoc Ky through little lessons in the school. Now he “met” Ky again in the articles posted on VietNamNet. He was very touched by the stories and he extremely admired teacher Ky.
“Teacher Nguyen Ngoc Ky is a great and shining example,” the reader wrote.

Many years ago, during his visit to Ky’s hometown in Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province, late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong said: “Nguyen Ngoc Ky is the representative of the extraordinary and magical effort and struggling, a good example for young people today, especially those with disabilities to follow.”
Actually, Nguyen Ngoc Ky is no longer a strange name for dozens of generations of students in the past, through lessons in the textbook. However, not everyone knows how and why he did not use chalk or blackboard, but he still became a teacher of excellence for over 35 years. According to Ky’s students, he applied a teaching method that is totally different from others but it is extremely effective.
Because his hands are useless, teacher Ky designed lesson content on sheets of cardboard, covered with a white sheet of paper. While teaching, he used legs to pull down the outer white paper, for the letters slowly appear.
To make his lessons more lively, he often released unique puzzles in poetry to make students excited.
Looking at teacher Ky’s life, reader Thuy Duong uttered: “The energy of teacher Ky was terrific! His whole life was a tireless striving. Looking at myself, I’m really weak. I’m normal but my soul is not full. I lack the will and determination before difficulty. Thank you – Nguyen Ngoc Ky.”
Readers Mainguyenha @ … told her story of 19 years ago. She said at that time she was a high school student in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. She was lucky to see teacher Ky when he was invited to talk at her school. She also saw teacher Ky use two feet to write, draw, sew … Since then, teacher Ky has still been an example and an idol in her heart.
Another special story was told by reader Fidel: “Over ten years ago, when I was a secondary school student, my teacher asked us to write an essay describing an example of overcoming difficulties. My father told me about teacher Ky and I wrote about him with all of admiration of a junior high school student.”
“But it is sad that my essay was scored a three mark, with the comment that this example is bogus!!! That day, I was very sad because even a teacher did not know who he is.”

He wrote that he was born after the country’s reunification in 1975. When he was a general student, he was told by his teachers and learn in textbooks about Nguyen Ngoc Ky.
