I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson , Ss will be able to use the grammar points
to do the exercises.
II. Language contents:
1. Vocabulary: NO.
2. Grammar: + Review The simple past tense
+ The simple past with “wish”
The Present Progressive Tense, The Simple Past, The Present
Perfect, The Simple Present.
III. Techniques: Asking and answering, elicitation; Pair work, Teacher asks and answer.
IV. Teaching aids: extra board.

*Chatting:
1. Which structures have you learnt in the first term?

* Grammar points:
1.The Simple Present Tense :
a) with “to be”
S + am/is/are +….
a) with ordinary verbs
S + V-s/es-inf + O.
2. The Present Progressive Tense
S + am/is/are + V-ing + O.
3. The Present Perfect Tense.
S + have/has + P.P + O.
4. The Simple Past Tense.
S + V-2-ed + O.
* Grammar structures:
1. Model verbs:
a) To make a request: can/could/may/ +S + V-inf….
Ex: Can I help you?....
b) To express a past habit: used to + V-inf…
ex : She used to get up late last year.
c) To give an advice: should/ought to + V-inf…
ex: You should study hard.
d) To express a future plan: …be going to + V-inf ... , plan+to-inf…
2. Structure: S+be(not)+adj/adv+ enough + to-inf…
Ex: He is strong. He can lift this stone.
->He is strong enough to lift this stone
3. Reported speech:
a) Command:
S+told+O(person)+to-inf +O(thing).
Ex: Mary said to Peter “Please give me a book” ->Mary told Peter to give her a book.
b) Request:
S+Teacher asksed+O(person)+ to-inf + O(thing).
4. Gerunds: (V-ing)
Notice: follow these verbs is a gerund: hate, like, stop, enjoy, start, begin, dislike… or be +adj +prep +gerund.
* Do the exercises in the workbook.
* Make the sentences about you.
- Learn all the grammar points about tenses by heart.
- Prepare for the Unit 1: A VISIT FROM A PEN PAL

* Teacher asks Ss some questions about the grammar structures that they have learnt.
