I. THE PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE : ( HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN )
1. FORM :

Dấu hiệu

a. Affirmative form
 I + AM
He, She, It, danh từ số ít + IS + V_ing
We, You, they, danh từ số nhiều + ARE

V tận cùng là E, bỏ e thêm Ing ( ride _ riding )
Now, at present, at the moment, at this time,
Đứng sau các câu mệnh lệnh ( ! ) như :
Look !, Listen ! . Be careful !...

b.Negative Form
S + am/ is/are +not + V_ing



c. Interrogative form :
Is/ Are + S + V_ing …?
Yes, S + am/is/are
No, S+ am/is/are not



Usage
- Diễn tả 1 hành động đang diễn ra và kéo dài ở 1 thời gian ở hiện tại.

Noticement
Không sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn với các động từ tri giác như :to be, see, Hear, undersatnd ( hiểu , know (biết ), like, want, feel, think, smell ( ngửi ), love, hate ( ghét ), realize ( nhận ra ), seem ( dường như ) remember ( nhớ), forget ( quên )..
Nếu gặp các động từ này ta sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn
