SUBJUNCTIVE – THỂ GIẢ ĐỊNH Ở HIỆN TẠI

The Subjunctive in English is the simple form of the verb when used after certain verbs indicating that one person wants another person to do something. The word that must always appear in subjunctive sentences. If it is omitted, most of the verbs are followed by the infinitive.
We urged that he leave now.
We urged him to leave now
Thể giả định ở hiện tại được áp dụng cho những động từ sau đây:


Advise, ask, command, decree, demand, insist, move, order, prefer, propose, recommend, request, require, stipulate, suggest, urge



Cấu trúc của thể giả định ở hiện tại đối với những động từ trên là như sau:


Subject + Verb (any tense) + that + Subject + Verb (bare) …..


Examples:
The judge insisted that the jury return a verdict immediately.
The university required that all its students take this course.
Congress has decreed that the gasoline tax be abolished.
We proposed that he take a vacation.
I move that we adjourn until this afternoon.
Dạng Verb (bare) này cũng được sử dụng sau một số tính từ hoặc động từ được sử dụng như tính từ sau đây:


Advise, important, mandatory, necessary, obligatory, proposed, recommended, required, suggest, urgent, imperative, advisable



Cấu trúc của thể giả định ở hiện tại đối với những Adjectives trên là như sau:


It + be (any tense) + that + Subject + Verb (bare) …..



Examples:
It is necessary that he find the book.
It was urgent that she leave at once.
It has been proposed that we change the topic.
It is important that you remember this question.
It has been suggested that he forget the election.
It was recommended that we wait for the authorities.
It is important that your father follow the doctor’s advice.
It is advisable that you be careful in the laboratory.

The teacher demanded that the student left the room.

She intends to move that the committee suspends discussion on this issue.
