DURING CHILDHOOD
Privacy
Children have their own living space.
Other members knock the door before coming into their room.
Children can do everything they want in their room.
2. Self-reliance and Individualism
when babies are about one year old, their parents teach them skills that can help themselves.
Children have their own independence and needs.
Do anything without asking their elders before.
Decide the amount of food they want
They are also taught to be responsible for their activities.
- Do not tell lies.
- Say “sorry” when making mistakes.
- Stand up by themselves when falling.
Parents do not punish or insult their children in front of others.
- Put them alone, then, teach them.
Do not curse at them.
Listen to them carefully.
- Show them their mistakes and ways to correct them.
3. In comparison with Vietnam
Children do not have their own living space.
Have to share their room with their siblings or their parents.
Have to wear their siblings’ old clothes.
They also have their self-reliance and individualism but it is weak.
Be helped to do their own duties by their elders even that they are simple and easy.
Have to ask their parents’ permission before doing something.
Be forced to do things even that they do not want.
Be punished and insulted in front of others.
