WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Each year over 4 million deaths in the world because of smoking.
And every 8 seconds, someone dies.
Over 50 million continue to smoke, including over 3 million teens.
Tobacco contains over 4,ooo chemiscals, many of which are harmful such as Tar, Nicotine, Carbon monoxide and etc…
Effects of Smoking and the reasons to Stop
International studies of millions of people by government, industry, universities, and private research institutions have determined that smoking can cause diseases for people who smoke and inhaled .

Smoker :
health problems: lung cancer, heart attacks, sore throat, weakened immune system,….
shortened lifetime
changing one’s appearance
Non-smoker:
- Pregnant woman: health problems (spontaneous abortion/ miscarriage, premature birth, premature rupture of the membranes,…)
- Fetus and children:
Stillborn infant
Birth defects, e.g. congenital limb reduction
Increased nicotine receptors in baby`s brain
Increased likelihood (= competence) of child smoking as a teenager
Possible predisposition to adult anxiety disorders

Give a heavy fine for smoking in public.
Give awareness to people.
Increase higher taxes on tobacco.
Take more sign in public place.
Take more places to smoke free
Benefits of stopping smoking
include the following:

Reduction in `smoker`s cough`.
The smell of stale tobacco goes from your breath, clothes, hair, and face.
Foods and drinks taste and smell much better.
Finances improve.
You are likely to feel good about yourself.
How can I stop smoking?

get ready to quit.
You must be motivated
line up support.
Ask your friends and family to help with your quitting
avoid smoking traps .
avoid situations where you would normally smoke
find new habits, keep yourself busy, such as “find other "mouth" activities” or keep moving.
be good to yourself .
Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and 3 healthy meals daily. Congratulate yourself for making a major, positive change in your life.

Most ex-smokers gain less than 10 pounds.
