I. Objectives:
To help the readers develop the skill of reading English:
By the end of the lesson students will learn about the Web page and know that the Internet is a big part of our life. They also learn about the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet.
Students will also learn stragegies for guessing the meaning of new words using an explanation, reading faster, identifying the text organizations, prefixes

Read the directions and questions
Put students into pairs to discuss the photos
Call on volunteers to share their ideas with the class

Tell students to look at the list of the questions and answer with their partners .

Remind students not to use a dictionary during this part of the lesson. Tell them to add a prefix to each word
Ask them to use new words to complete the text .

Have students select their answer individually T/ F and then compare it with a partner.

Before you read
1.Thinking about the topic
Read the directions. Have students get into pairs.
Have students look at the picture.
Encourage students NOT TO USE A DICTIONARY
Ask volunteers to share with the class their answers to the FOUR questions.
2. Preview vocabulary
Tell students to look at the list of words and phrases and repeat them after you, or have students listen and repeat them as you play the audio.
Direct students to mark the stress on each word of more than one syllable- or the stressed word in each phrase .
3. Understanding the text
Have Ss to answer the question
and choose multiple choice.

4. Identyfying the Main Idea
Some students may have done this activity, and others may not have had time.
Read the directions and call on one student to read the statement that expresses the main idea.

Read the directions.
Have Ss to work individually or in pairs
Review the answer with the class .

Read the directions in the chart as students follow along silently.
Make sure students understand the cause and effect
Have students work individually to complete the activity.

7. Building Vocabulary
Write six adjectives on the board. Ask students to choose Adjective that Jim uses when writing about Paula
8. Read the text and answewr the questions
Read the directions. Tell student to look at the list of words and phrases and repeat them after you.
