REVISION FOR CHOOSING STUDENT GRADE 10TH UPPER GRADES
1 – The simple present
Form: S + V1(s,es)
Ex: I go to school; She does her homework.
Advs: every + n, today, …..
* Notes: The words have final letters begin with s,ss,sh,ch,x,o must insert “es.”
2 – The present progressive
Form: S + is, am, are (be)+ V-ing
Ex: I am doing my home work; He is working for his plan.
Advs: Now, at the moment, this time, at + time, listen, look!, Be quiet, …..
* Notes: Cutting, Putting, stopping, trapping, skipping, beginning …..
3 – The passive voice of simple present
Form: S + is, am, are + V3ed
Ex: She is punished; These houses are built.
4 – The passive voice of present progressive
Form: S + is, am, are + being + V3ed
Ex: This building is being built
5 – The simple past
Form: S + V2ed
Ex: We went to school; He wrote a letter
Advs: last + time, yesterday, ……
* Notes: Skipped, trapped, stopped, ……
6 – The past progressive
Form: S + was/were + V-ing
Ex: We were having dinner; they were going to the super market.
Advs: time + yesterday, now, at the moment + yesterday,……
7 – The passive voice of simple past
Form: S + was/were + V3ed
Ex: This company was gotten started; I was punished.
8 – The present perfect
Form: S + have/has + V3ed
Ex: They have had breakfast; Tom has worked in his farm
Advs: since, for, already, just, ever, never, up to now, up to the present, not ….. yet.
9 – The passive voice of present perfect
Form: S + have/has + been + V3ed
Ex: These cheeses have been made; This school has been built.
10 – Tag question
Form: - Positive sentence, negative tage ?
- S + Vpositive + O , Vnegative + S ?
Ex: John has lunch, doesn’t he ?
The have to get the tickets, don’t they ?
She has ever learnt in this school, hasn’t she ?
* Notes: Let’s go to the canteen for drinking, shall we ?
They have no money, do they ?
We have never been there, have we ?
I am a student, aren’t I ?
A cat is eating fish, isn’t it ?
Mice are having cheeses, aren’t they ?
11 – Conditional
A – Type 1 (Real in present)
If + simple present, Simple future.
Ex: I we study hard, we will get good mark
* Simple future: S + Will/Shall + V0
B – Type 2 (Unreal in the present)
If + Simple past, S + would/could/had to + V0
Ex: If they have much money, they would/could buy a villa.
C – Type 3 (Unreal in the past)
If + past perfect, S + would/could, should + Have V3ed
Ex: Last night, I didn’t sleep well. If I had slept well, I wouldn’t have been tired.
12 – Reported speech
Change the thrones
Change the first throne tally with subject in main clause.
Change the second throne tally with object in main clause.
No changing with the third throne.
