*Liên từ (Conjunctions) là những từ ding để nói các từ loại, cụm từ, nhóm từ hay mệnh đề với nhau.
He is intelligent but very lazy.
We have to work hard, or we will pail the exam.
*Cách dùng 1 số liên từ:
1)So và Therefore (vì thế ,cho nên) được dùng để nêu kết quả của mệnh đề trước đó (mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhân )
-So thường dùng ở giữa câu ,phía trước có dấu phẩy dùng để nối mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhaanvaf mệnh đề chỉ kết quả.
It’s raining, so we can’t go out.
-Therefore có thể đứng đầu 1 câu nói chỉ kết quả, phía sau có dấu phẩy hoặc đứng ở giữa 1 câu.
He didn’t do the homework.Therefore, he was punished.
2)But va However (nhưng, tuy nhiên) dùng để diễn tả ý đối lập nhau trong 1 câu hoặc trong 1 ngữ đoạn ngắn.
-But thường đứng ở đầu một cụm từ/một từ hoặc ở mệnh đề thứ 2.
It’s abit late, but I’d like to go out.
-However có thể đứng ở đầu câu, giữa câu, hoặc cuối 1 câu. Trước However dùng dấu chấm , dấu phẩy hoặc dấu chấm phẩy. Sau however thường là dấu phẩy.

Exercise 1:Cirde the best conjunction to complete the sentences.

Exercise 2:complete the sentences using the following connectives.
And / but / so / or / therefore / however
Tom is a careful student…...Tom’s brother is not.
