Nouns of jobs
Let’s take a look at pictures of some celebrities!
Think of 2 celebrities that are in the news at the moment.
Say why they are in the news. What have they done?
Some adjectives describing a person
temperamental (a) /tempərə`mentl/ describes someone whose mood tends to change very suddenly
Ex: Be careful how you talk to her because she is very temperamental.
thoughtful (a) /`θɔ:tfl/ carefully considering things
easy-going (a) /`i:zɪgəʊɪŋ/ not easily upset or worried
moody /`mu:dɪ/ (a) = temperamental
spoilt /spɔɪlt/ (a) selfish and lacking in care and respect for other people
Ex: Those children become spoilt because they are allowed to do whatever they want.
bad-tempered /bæd`tempəd/(a) getting angry very quickly = hot-tempered
talented /`tæləntɪd/ (a) good at something
entourage /ˈɒntərɑ:ʒ/ the group of people who travel with and work for a famous person
Ex: The rock-star arrived in London with her entourage of dancers.
assistant /əˈsɪstənt/ someone who helps someone else to do a job teaching assistant (TA), personal assistant (PA)
manicurist /ˈmænɪkjʊərɪst/ thợ cắt sửa móng tay
chef /ʃef/ the most important cook who works in a hotel or restaurant.
dietician /daɪəˈtɪʃn/ a person who gives advice about food and eating
masseur /mæˈsɜ:z/ a person whose job is to give massages to people
masseuse /mæˈsɜ:z/ a female masseur
chauffeur /ˈʃəʊfə/ (formal) driver
vet /vet/ animal doctor
Read the first part of the article “Davina Moody - drama queen” in your text book and answer these questions.

Davina travelled by private jet.
2. Who did she travel with?
She travelled with a 20-strong entourage, including her personal assistant (PA), the PA to the PA, her hairdresser, make-up artist, manicurist, chef, dietician, masseuse, personal trainer, chauffeur, 6 bodyguards and a vet for her pet.
3. Is Davina the first famous star to stay in the hotel?
No, she isn’t.
4. Did the hotel staff enjoy looking after her?
No, they didn’t.
