1. 15 x 12 = 180 She paid 180 dollars.
2. One sloth has 3 x 4 = 12 toes. 12 x 25 = 300 They have 300 toes.
3. 10 x 7 = 70 It is 70 inches long.
4. 12 x 15 = 180 He has 180 heads of cabbage.
5. 12 x 31 = 372 She can bike 372 miles.

Grade 4 Multiplication Word Problems #2 (Rates)
1. Tammy drove 55 miles in one hour. At that rate, how far can she drive in 36 hours?
2. Jeff swims 20 laps every day. How many laps will he swim in six weeks?
3. Mary Beth could jump 42 times each minute. How many times could she jump in two hours?
4. Rob could run 7 miles in one hour. At that rate, how far could Rob run in one day?
5. It takes 4 apples to make 1 pie. How many apples does it take to make 504 pies?
Answers
1. 55 x 36 = 1980 She can drive 1,980 miles.
2. 6 weeks x 7 days = 42 total days. 42 x 20 = 840 He will swim 840 laps.
3. 2 hours x 60 minutes = 120 total minutes. 120 x 42 = 5040 She could jump 5,040 times.
4. There are 24 hours in 1 day. 24 x 7 = 168 He could run 168 miles.
5. 4 x 504 = 2016 It takes 2,016 apples.

Division Word Problems # 1
1. You have 24 cookies and want to share them equally with 6 people. How many cookies would each person get?
2. You are reading a book with 120 pages. If you want to read the same number of pages each night, how many would you have to read each night to finish in 10 days?
3. A cereal box holds 18 cups of cereal. Each serving is 2 cups. How many servings are in the whole box?
4. A box of books weighs 42 pounds. Each book weights 3 pounds. How many books are there in the box?
5. Sue’s mother made 75 cookies. She put the cookies in bags, with 3 cookies in each bag. How many bags could she fill up?
Answers
1. 24 ÷ 6 = 4 Each person gets 4 cookies.
2. 120 ÷ 10 = 12 You have to read 12 pages.
3. 18 ÷ 2 = 9 There are 9 servings.
4. 42 ÷ 3 = 14 There are 24 books.
5. 75 ÷ 3 = 25 She can fill 25 bags.

1. An airplane hangar is 300 feet long. How many planes can fit into it, end to end, if each plane is 40 feet long?
2. It takes 3 eggs to make a cake. How many cakes can you make with 37 eggs?
3. 105 people are going to a movie. 6 people can ride in each car. How many cars are needed to get all 105 people to the movie?
4. Ms. Baker has 17 cupcakes. She wants to share them equally among her 3 children so that no one gets more than anyone else. If she gives each child as many cupcakes as possible, how many cupcakes will be left over for Ms. Baker to eat?
