Getting Started :
-Work with a partner .A foreign pen pal is
coming to stay with you for a week .What
activities would you do during the visit ?
-Have the students look at the pictures
(page 6) and identify the place
2.Listen and Read :
*-- Listen to the tape and find the answer to the following questions:
Who is Maryam ? What country does she come from ? What city does she live in ?
*-- Read the text and find
How long have they been pen pals?
How often do they correspond?
Where did they go on the first day ?
What did Maryam think of Hanoi ?
What places of interest in Hanoi did they visit over the next few days?
Where did she go on Friday?
What did Lan use to do when she was at primary school ? What about now? Does she often walk past the mosque now? So, used to means often did something in the past and no longer now
Did Lan also pray in the mosque? What did she do there ?
What did Maryam invite Lan to do next summer ? Is it easy for Lan to have a trip abroad ? Why ?
