Yes/no questions:
Beginning with such auxiliaries as Are/Is/Was/Were/Does/Did/Could/Will……
Answer: Yes or No.
Example:
Q: Do you like classical music?-
A: Yes, I do ./ No. I don’t.
Note: Sometimes the answer is not begun with Yes or No
Example:
Q: Are you an employee here?
A: Actually, I’m the owner.
Q: Is there enough gas in the car?
A: I just filled it yesterday.
II. How questions: There are three main types
a. Asking about the process or way of doing something: the answers are usually begun with BY or An ADVERB.
Ex : Q: ‘How do you go to school everyday?’
A: ‘ By bike/ bus/ car.’
Ex: Q: ‘How does he drive?’-
A: ‘Carefully/ Carelessly/ Slowly’…
b. Asking about the quality or state of something : Using adjectives in the answer.
Ex: “How was your flight?”
A: “______________________”
Three hours B. yes, it was
C. Every two hours
D. It was just awful
c. How + Adjective/Adverb:
how much, how many, how far/ how fast/ how often/ how long/ how old….
Ex: Q : “________________ do you go to the movies?’
A: “ Once a month”
