Được dùng để nói về sự lựa chọn giữa hai khả năng (đôi khi nhiều hơn hai)

Eg: You can either come with me now or walk home.
Either + clause……... Or + clause
Eg: Either you leave this house or I’ll call the police.
Subject,,,,,,, either + noun……or + noun
Eg; I don’t speak either French or German.
Khi hai chủ từ được nối bởi either…or, thì động từ được chia theo chủ từ đứng gần động từ.

Eg: Either students or the teacher is planning to come.

Eg: Either teacher or the students are planning to come
* Neither…….nor (không ….mà cũng không) được dùng để nối hai ý phủ định
Subject + Neither + noun…nor + noun
Eg: I trust neither the manager nor the accountant
Subject + Neither + verb…nor + noun / verb
Eg: I neitrer trust the manager nor the accountant
Khi hai chủ từ số ít được nối với nhau bởi neither…nor, động từ thường được chia ở số ít.nhưng động từ có thể được chia ở số nhiều nếu văn phong không quá sang trọng
Eg: neither jack nor Alice were at home.

Eg:People talk about this film
-> It is this film that is talked about.
Eg: Columbus discovered America.
-> it is America that was discovered by Columbus
