GOOD MORNING EVERY BODY !!
THE MOSKOW KREMLIN
(Russian: ?????????? ??????)
It is one of the largest architectural ensembles of the world included into the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
The first recorded stone structures in the Kremlin were built at the behest of Ivan Kalita in the late 1320s and early 1330s after Peter, Metropolitan of Rus had moved his seat from Kiev to Moscow.
To the right is The Ivan - the Great Bell-Tower complex which is the key of the Kremlin’s composition.
In the centre are the domes of the Archangel’s Cathedral which history dates back to 1333 when the foundation of a church devoted to St. Archangel Michael was laid.
To the left is the Grand Kremlin Palace erected on the initiative of Nicholas I in 1838-1850 as a new imperial residence. Nowadays it houses the residence of the President.
On the foreground there are the Moskvoretsky (Moscow-river) bridge and five Kremlin towers (from right to left)
RED SQUARE
( Russian: ??????? ???????)
Red Square is the most famous city square in Moscow. The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currently the official residence of the President of Russia, from a historic merchant quarter known as Kitay-gorod (China-Town). As major streets of Moscow radiate from here in all directions, being promoted to major highways outside the city, the Red Square is often considered the central square of Moscow and of all Russia.
Red Square is located at the foot of the Kremlin`s eastern walls
The name of Red Square derives neither from the colour of the bricks around it nor from the link between the colour red and communism. Rather, the name came about because the Russian word красная (krasnaya) can mean either "red" or "beautiful" (the latter meaning is archaic)
Red Square, a vast open space some 73,000 sq m (87,300 sq yd) in extent, dates from the 15th century and is dominated by two impressive buildings at either end: the Cathedral of Saint Basil the Blessed, a 16th-century onion-domed building.
The late-19th-century State Historical Museum. Red Square has been the scene of many disturbances and demonstrations, and for decades it was used by the Soviet government for its May Day military parades and celebrations to mark the anniversary of the Russian Revolution of 1917.
The embalmed body of former Soviet leader Vladimir Ilich Lenin is displayed for public viewing in a mausoleum on Red Square.
The Red Square of today is more than 500,000 square feet of open land. A place where people gather to celebrate official state events, to be photographed in front of favorite sites, or just to drink in the historic splender.
