Cách 1: động từ có 2 âm tiết trọng âm rơi âm 2

Cách 2: đối với danh từ, tính từ 2 âm tiết trọng âm rơi vào âm đầu tiên

Ngoại lệ:balloon, advice, canoe,mistake, alone
Cách 3:danh từ hay tính từ ghép trọng âm sẽ rơi vào âm thứ nhất
Ex:birthday, carsick, artport, waterproof
Ngoại lệ: duty free, snow white
Cách 4: nếu tính từ ghép có thành phần đầu tiên la tính từ hay trạng từ ,thành phần thứ 2 là ed thì trọng âm rơi vào thành phần thứ 2
Ex: short sighted, bad tempered, well done
Cách 5: hầu như các tiền tố không nhận trọng âm
Ex: impossible, rewrite
Ngoại lệ: underpass, underlay
Cách 6 : khi them các hậu tố , ment, ness, ship, hood,ing , en , ful, able,less
