Christina, a successful businessperson, told our readers about the most memorable experience in her life.
Her most unforgettable experience happened thirteen years ago, when her house burned down. The fire started in the kitchen where she forgot to turn off the gas stove. She was sleeping when she was suddenly woken up by terrible heat. She opened her eyes to find herself surrounded by walls of fire. She was terrified. Then she heard her mother’s voice calling her name. She rushed to her mother and her mother carried her out. Luckily, she got away without even a minor burn.
Although she lost many things in the fire, the experience helped her grow up. Before the fire, she was selfish. She always complained to her mother about how small her room was or how few clothes she had. Then the fire came and destroyed everything she owned, but slowly she became to realize that she did not really need those things. She just needed her family. After all, she could get new clothes anytime, but a family could never be replaced. The fire took many things from her, but it gave her something, too. It taught her to appreciate her family more than things.
