Childhood is certainly not the happiest time in your life. Discuss
Our people tend to regret the past, deny the present and look forward the future; and then time elapses; future becomes present. Unconsciously, we regret what we have denied; deny what we have looked forward and look forward other. This vicious circle makes life unpleasant. How often ones hear children wishing they were grown up and old people wishing they were young again. Thus, what is the happiest time in life? There is a saying “Childhood is not certainly the happiest time in your life”.
At first heard, this hackneyed statement seems a strange, almost an absurd saying. Childhood is a time when a child is able to feel carefree to spend his days with no work to do, nothing to be worried about and few responsibilities. He’s always cherished, indulged and taken care of considerately, tenderly by his family members. All his instinct needs are always available for him. What’s more a child is supposed to be the future of the country, he is offered many privileges by society, government from which he can get attention, care all the time. Besides, he is too immature too be responsible for his own actions. As a result, society is willing to make allowance for him in his wrong-doings, never turns him down with tolerance, forgiveness.
Yes, never in his life will he be given without bothering to do something in return
Furthermore, life presents so many things fresh, novel to a child. Things that have lost their interests for older people because they are too well-known; His pleasure, enjoyment are simple. A session of taking a shower under the rain or in a hot summer day, to sink himself in a cool river romping to his heart’s content is enough to bring him fully chortles. His first visit to the seaside, a day to explore or get into some strange, remote place is s enough to bring excitement, anxiety to make life worthwhile.
However, no one, no matter how old, how rich or how successful, is immune to sadness. Everybody hurts. And for this reason, everyone is susceptible to depression. A child is no exception; but depression, anger or negative feelings do not last long in a child enough to spoil his joy, happiness. Then, why should we say “Childhood is certainly not the happiest time in your life?”
No doubt all this and more is true. But this does not disapprove the saying. As it has been said, life is not a bed of roses but a mixture of enjoyment and endurance. Each age of life has its own pleasures and pains. Childhood is the same, a child never tastes the flavor of independence and subjectivity, he has to do what he is asked to, enjoy what he is allowed to. The feeling of being controlled all the time is so annoying and disturbing.
Yes, childhood is great; as is every other stage in life, but it is certainly not worry-free! He has few responsibilities, but the responsibility for himself, for his own future is already burdensome to him. So as to catch up with the unceasing development of life; especially, in this time of days in which the market is larger than ever before, the intellectual competition is more decisive than ever before. A child has to from the earliest years, work very hard to equip himself enough luggage of knowledge and experiences, the constant fear of examinations, the pressure of school assignments, of class sessions all spoil the child’s happiness.
In a gut, “Childhood is certainly not the happiest time in your life?” is true on the grounds that human life is a process of ups and downs, a mixture of grief joys and endurance. Therefore, each age has its own pleasures and pains. To make a heaven of life, one must learn to enjoy what each age of life gives without wasting his time on useless regrets.(650 words)
