Expectation and Promising
I. Giving expectation
a.Model verb : should /ought to + bare infinitive
Negative : shouldn’t
Ought to seldom occurs in question or negative statements.
Ex:
1. The mailman should be here soon.
2. They ought to arrive at any moment.

b.Other verbs:
1• Expect + to V/ Clause (expectation will probable happen in reality)
Ex: I expect to receive a letter from my parents soon
2 • Hope + to V/Clause (expectation about feeling or simple express that you want something to happen in the future)
Ex: I hope he has got some good news
3 • Look forward to +V-ing (expecting something)
Ex: I look forward to meeting you.
c.Noun: expectation and hope
Ex: I have an/a expectation/hope that I can buy a nice house.
II.Giving promising :
Promise (O) + infinitive
Ex: I promise I’m coming back soon.
Ex: I keep my promise (n) that I’ll be back.
Swear/vow + infinitive
