Helen Keller
On 27 June 1880, she was born in Tuscumbia
In 1882, got "brain fever" which had left her deaf, blind and mute.
In 1887, met Anne Sullivan - who is remembered for the good things she did for Helen Keller as Helen`s teacher for nearly whole of her life.
In 1888, went to commence her education at the Perkins Institution.
In 1890, thank to miss Sullivan and Helen`s trying, she could speak again.
In 1893, opened a charity library in Tuscumbia.
In 1986, moved on to the Cambridge School of Young Ladies.
In 1900, passed an examination to entered Radcliff College.
In 1903, published her first book "The story of my life".
In 1904, excellently graduated from Radcliff College.
In 1906, became a member of the Socialist Party of Massachusetts.
In 1908, wrote "The World I Live In" giving readers an insight into how she felt about the world.
In 1913, toured the world, speaking of her experiences in being disabled, published "Out of the Dark", a series of essays on Socialism.
In 1927, published "Light in my darkness" - her spiritual autobiography.
In 1930, met King George and Queen Mary at Buckingham Palace, who were said to be deeply impressed by Helen`s ability
In 1931, got a candidate in the metropolitan exams of humanity with Anne Sullivan.
In 1936, Anne Sullivan died.
In 1954, got Oscar award for the documentary, "Helen Keller In Her Story".
In 1961, visited President John F. Kennedy in the White House.
In 1964, awarded the Presidential Metal of Freedom one of the United States` highest two civilian honors by president Lyndon B. Johnson.
In 1965, was elected to the Women`s Hall of Fame at the New York World`s Fair.
In 1968, died peacefully in her sleep.
In Helen`s own words: "The public must learn that the blind man is neither genius nor a freak nor an idiot. He has a mind that can be educated, a hand which can be trained, ambitions which it is right for him to strive to realize, and it is the duty of the public to help him make the best of himself so that he can win light through work."

Helen Keller`s Teacher - Anne Sullivan
Annie Sullivan was born on April fourteenth, 1866, to Irish parents.
In 1875, she went to a town called Tewksbury because her mother had died and the rest of her family did not want to care for her.
An illness that had been in her eyes since she was three caused her to become blind.
In 1880, Annie moved to the Perkins Institution for the Blind
In 1886, Annie graduated from college.
On March third, 1887, Annie Sullivan met Helen Keller for the first time, she was to be Helen governess.
Annie helped Helen talk, read, write and feel things. Annie made Helen happy and helped her to have a good life.
On October nineteenth, 1936, Annie Sullivan passed away, leaving Helen Keller by herself.
Annie Sullivan is remembered for the good things she did for Helen Keller and her family.
