LESSON 1
I. Objectives
- Knowledge: By the end of the lesson students will be able to use vocabulary and structure about greeting.
- Skill: practice speaking skill.

- Class organization.
- Check the previous lesson.

II. New lesson
1. Warm – up: Chatting
- Lets Ss introduce some information about themselves ( may be in Vietnamese) and introduce oneself in English.
Example: Hello. I’m Lan ( Hi. I’m Lan).
2. Vocabulary
Teaching vocabulary
I ( translate)
Hello ( translate)
Asks Ss to repeat in chorus, in individual.
( Look, listen and repeat
Presenting new structure:
- Gives a situation to present.
- Elicits the structure by asking Ss to speak out the model sentences.
Hello. I’m Mai
Hi, Mai. I’m Nam
I’m + name
( I’m = I am)
( Look and say
- Asks Ss to look at pictures a, b, c, d and introduce four characters.
- Models the dialogue
- Asks Ss to repeat
- Asks Ss to work in pairs.
- Checks Ss’ practice.
( Talk
- Asks Ss look at pictures on page 7 and identify the characters in the picture
- Points to picture and asks Ss to practice.
- Checks Ss’s practice.
- Have Ss to work in pairs ( using the real name to practice).
- Goes around class to help Ss.
- Calls on some pairs to demonstrate their practice.
PLAY GAME: SLAP THE BOARD
- Writes vocabularies and name of character on the board
- Gives the rule of game
- Lets Ss play game and total scores.
III. Consolidation
- Consolidates the lesson.
- Asks Ss learn by heart new words and sentences.
- Introduce about oneself.
- Listen and copy down new words.
- Read aloud
- Listen and repeat.
- Name characters.
- Repeat.
- Work in pairs.
- Work in pairs
- Practice.
- Listen the rule of game and play game.
