1. The present perfect (10 mins)
- Recall the form of verbs and the use of the tense, ss copy
2. The past progressive tense (10 mins)
- Revise the form and the use of the present progressive tense, ss copy
- Give examples, ss copy
3. The passive form (10mins)
- Ask ss to recall the form of passive in tenses they learnt, ss do
- Ask ss to give examples, ss copy
4. Reported speech (10 mins)
- Recall the way to change direct speech into reported speech, ss copy
- Note the changes in reported speech, ss listen and copy
5. Homework (5 mins)
- Ask ss to prepare unit 1(Getting stated + Listen and read)
I/ The present perfect
* Form:
+ S + have/ has + p.p
- S+ have/ has+ not + p.p
? Have/ has + S + p.p? + Yes, S + have/ has +No, S+haven’t/ hasn’t * Use:
+ Express the actions happened in past and still last the presentand may be in future, goes with “for, since”
For + a period of time
Since + a point of time
Ex: We have learnt English for 3 years/ since 2005
+With “yet” or “already”, the tense express an action which finished or unfinished in past but not mention the exact time
Ex: He hasn’t done his homework yet
II/ The past progressive tense
*Form:
+ S + was/ were + Ving
- S+ was/ were+ not + Ving
? Was/ were + S + Ving? + Yes, S+ was/
were
+No, S + wasn’t/weren’t
* Use:
- Express the actions that are happening in certain time in past
Ex: I was watching TV at 9 o’clock last night
- With “when”, express the actions that were happening in past, other was interupted
Ex: He was doing the housework when his friend phoned
- With “while”, two or more actions that were in progress at the same time
Ex: Hai was writing a letter while Ha was reading a book
III/ Passive form
*Form: Be + PP
S + be + PP + by O
S + am/ is/ are + pp + by O ( present simple)
S + was/were + pp + by O ( past simple)
S + will/ shall + be + pp + by O ( future simple)
S + am/ is/ are + being + pp + by O ( present progressive)
S + was /were +being + pp + by O ( past progressive)
S + have/ has +been + pp + by O ( present perfect)
III/ Reported speech
+ Statement:
S + V + O
-> S + V(lùi 1 thì) + O
+ Yes/ no question:
S1 + asked + if/ whether + S2 + V(lùi 1 thì)
