A- The aims and requests:
1.Objectives:
- Help Ss get acquainted to the situation related to the topic"My homeland"
- Ss practise asking and answering about their homeland.
-Introduces some new words related to countries in the world.
2 - Teaching points:
Hello/ Hi . My name`s+ ten. I`m from + nuoc. I`m + Quoc tich.
3 - Preparation:
- Teacher: Lesson plan, pictures, word cues.
- Students: Text book, work book, homework.
B - Procedures:
1. Warm up.
-T: Good afternoon! Ss:-Good afternoon, teacher!
2- Checking up the old lesson.
3 - New lesson:
Teacher ` s activities
Students ` activities
1.Look, listen and repeat.
-Encourages Ss to describe the picture in Vietnamese or in English based on the following ideas:
+Who are they?
+What are they doing?
+Where is Peter from?
+Where is Alan from?
-Has Ss look at the picture , listen to the tape.
-Plays the tape again and has Ss listen and repeat.
-Introduces new words:
+from
+Singapore
+America
- Has Ss read the words in chorus and individually.
- T sets the scene.
- T writes on board and has Ss listen and repeat.
A: Where are you from?
B: I`m from Singapore.
-Has Ss read the model sentence in chorus and individually.
-Has Ss read the dialogue in pair. T goes around and helps if necessary.
-Has some pairs represent the dialogue in front of the class.
2.Look and say
-Encourages Ss describe the pictures in Vietnamese( names and countries)
-Has Ss read the names of the countries below each friend.
-Has Ss point to each friend and retell the name of his/ her country
-Has Ss read aloud model sentence:
+Where are you from?
I`m from Vietnam.
-Gives Ss wordcues and has them play role and practise.
1. Nam /Vietnam
2. Peter /America
3. Linda / England
4. Alan /Singapore
-Has Ss volunteer to talk in front of the class.
-Has Ss do ex1(p6-W.B)
-Has Ss report the result in front of the class
3.Let`s talk.
-Has Ss tell the content of the pictures and their tasks.
-Selects some pairs to play role and represent in front of the class.
-Suggests Ss do ex 2(p7-w.b)
-Look at the picture and do as requested
+They are Peter and Alan.
+They are talking about their homeland.
+He is from America.
+He is from Singapore.
- Look at the picture, listen to the tape.
-Look ,listen and repeat twice
-Listen to the teacher and take notes.
-Do as requested.
-Listen to the T.
-Point out the model sentence
-Write down in the notebooks.
- Practice reading in chorus and in pair.
- Work in pairs
- 5 pairs practice in front of the class.Others listen and give comments.
