I-Aims and ojectives:
- Language content: - Provide the Ss with some new words about the country and
landscape.
- Review the simple past tense, the simple past with WISH.
- Language function: - Help the Ss introdure some interesting places to the friends in
Ha Noi.
- Help the Ss retell past activities.
- Educational aim: Educating the Ss to take pride in their country, especially culture
and tradition.
1- Language:
a- Vocabulary: Correspond, impressed, mosque, pray, friendliness.
b- Structures: The simple past with WISH.
2- Skills: Integrated skills.
3- Educational factor: Teaching the Ss to show their friendliness to others.
II- Teacher and students’ preparation:
1- Method: Communicative approach.
2- Techniques: Repetition, explanation, pairwork, games.
3- Materials needed: Textbook, pictures, cassette player.
4- Students’ preparation: Pictures, new lesson.
5- Previos exercises: The teacher’s key to the last exercises.
III- Procedure in class:
1- Stabilization (3ms): a- Warm up: Greeting.
b- Checking absence: Who’s absent today?
2- Checking up the previous knowledge (5ms). (Can omit).
3- Presentation of the new materials:

* Getting started:
Gives a game: “Chatting”.
- Asks Ss some questions:
+ Do you have any pen pal?.
+ Where does she/he live?
+ What activities would you do during the visit?
*Possible answers:
+ I thik I’ll take our friends to temples and churches.
+ I’ll take the restaurant.
+ I’ll take them to the Revolutionary Museum.
+ I’ll take them to the Dong Xuan Market.
+ I’ll take them to the Opera House in Ha Noi.
-Play the game with the teacher’s helping.

- Plays the tape one time.
- Teaches vocabulary:
+ correspond (v) (explanation) (If two people correspond, they regularly write to each other).
+ mosque (n) ( picture).
+ to be impressed by (explanation: admiring some one or something very much).
+ pray ( v) ( mime).
+ friendliness (n) (explanation).
- Asks whole class to read the new words.
- Calls on some Ss to read the new words.
- Checks understanding of the new words, using the technique “Rub out and Remember”.
-Listen to the tape.
-Focus on the teacher’ explanation and write down.
-Read the new words.
-Individual reading.
-Play the game with the teacher’s guiding.

III- While- reading.
- Sets a sence: Lan’s Malaysian pen pal came to visit her Ha noi. Can you guess where she went and what she did during her stay?
- Gives feedback to the whole class to the open prediction.
- Plays the tape one or two times.
- Asks the Ss to read the text to check their prediction and add some more information.
- Calls on one or two Ss to read the text.
- Asks the Ss to read the text again to choose the correct option to complete the sentences on page 7.
- Asks the Ss to share their answers with the partners
- Gives feedback and corrects.

- Calls on some Ss to read the answers in front of the class.
