I.OBJECTIVES:
_Language content:
+To introduce the students new words and structures relating to the topic” The Environment”
_Language function:
+By the end of the lesson,the students will be able to:
+ use new words about environmental problems in the correct way
+ read the text for general and specific information through Matching exercises and Answering questions
_Educational aim:
+To help the students know more about the environmental problems
1. Language:
a. Vocabulary: Garbage Dump,Air pollution,Deforestation,Dynamite Fishing,spraying Pesticide,spoil, Achieve,Conservationist
b. Structures: + The simple present and simple future tense.
2. Skills: Integrated skills
3. Educational factor:
+To help the students know how to prevent the environment from pollution.

UNIT 6:THE ENVIRONMENT
Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED+LISTEN AND READ
I. Lead -in:
1.Play the game “NetWork”:
_Divides the class into two groups and play the game.
_Asks the students to list the activities which can pollute the environment.
_Says:”Today we are going to learn a lesson about the Environment”
_Asks the students to match the phrases with the correct pictures.
_Calls some students to read their answers.
_Says :“First of all, I would like to introduce you some new words.”
II. Pre-Practice:
1.Teaches new words:
_Teaches word by word following the principles and steps of teaching the new words.
*New words:
+Garbage Dump (n) [Picture]
+Air pollution (n) [Picture]
+Deforestation (n) [Picture]
+Dynamite Fishing (n) [Picture]
+Spraying Pesticide (n) [Picture]
+To spoil (v) [Translation]
+To achieve (v) [Translation]

2.Checks the understanding of the new words,using “Rub Out And Remember”
3. Prediction:
_Asks the students some questions:
+ Why do the writers of this book show us these pictures?
(Because they want us to know that our environment is being polluted and we should do something to save it)
+ What should we do to protect our environment?
_Calls some students to tell their ideas
III.Controlled-Practice:
a) Matching:
_Asks the students to listen the tape and check their guessing.
_Has some students read the text before the class.
_Corrects the students’ mistakes if necessary.
_Asks the students to read the text sliently again
_Hangs a chart in exercise a) in the book and has the students work in pairs and match the column A with the column B.
_Calls some students to read their answers before the class.(Give their evidence for each sentence)
_Corrects their mistakes.
