Ss review some grammar poits they learned in grade 8.
Gets Ss to prepare every thing for the new school year.

1. Warm up.
-Ask Ss to answer the questions given by teacher:
a, How was your summer holiday?
b, Where did you go and what did you do during your summer holiday?
2. Revision.
a. The present perfect tense.
* Form: ( +) S + have/ has + P.P ....
( - ) S + have / has + not + P.P .....
( ?) Have/ Has + S + P.P ...? - Yes, S + have/ has.
- No, S + haven’t/ hasn’t.
b. The past progressive tense.
* Form: S + was/ were + V-ing ........
c. Passive forms.
* Form: S + be + P.P .........
3. Written test (15 minutes):

Lesson 1: Getting started + Listen and repeat
I. Objectives:
After the lesson Ss will be able to talk about the activities that they organize when their friends visit their home town or their countryside.
To drill Ss the simple past with “ Wish “.
II. Teaching aids.
Text book, work book, picture on page 6, tape and cassette.
III. Teaching procedures:
A.Class organization.
Greetings.
Checking attendance:
B.New lesson
1. Warm up.
- Asks sts to imagine that a foreign penpal is coming to stay with them for a week. What activities would they like to do during the visit?
- Ask sts to look at the pictures from the books and read aloud their names of these places:
Ask Ss to use the promts:
+ I think I will take my friend to...........where we can swim, sunbathe.........or visit..................
2. Presentation.
- Introduces the content of the lesson and the situation.
-Asks sts to scan the first paragraph to tell some thing about Maryam.
-Pre teach some new words.
- Checking: Rubout and Remember.
-Plays the tape and then asks sts to write the diary and the places Lan took Maryam to.
-Asks sts to read the text aloud.
-Introduce the new structures:
3. Practice.
-Asks sts to read the text again to complete the exercise on page 7.( work in pairs )
-Asks sts to summary the text and name some famous places in Ha Noi
4. Consolidation
-Asks sts to retell the activities that Lan and her friend did in one week
