Period 1 : The method of learning English
A. Aim :
- To help Ss grasp at the lesson.
- To help Ss learning English easily.
B. Aids : books, notebooks.
C. Procedure :
THE METHOD OF LEARNING ENGLISH
* At school : Ss must
- Listen to the teacher carefully when he ( she ) reads.
- Have to write adequate the lesson.
- Have adequate books , notebooks and other material.
- If Ss don`t understand any parts , they should ask their teachers.
* At home : Ss must be :
- Learn the vocabulary ( write the vocabulary untill you learn them by heart )
- Learn the lesson combine the books and the notebooks.
- Apply their knowledge into real situation.
- Do homework carefully.
- Consult many books and other material.
- Organize to learn in groups , pairs or have exchanges with classmates.

Period 5 LESSON 4 : C1-4 ( p.17- 19 )
A. Aims :
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about age and contrast with “How old are you? ”, and count from 16 to 20.
B. Aids : pictures of Lan, Hoa,.....

2 Ss practise according to the point times of the day.
Write some cardinal numbers in English from 5 to 15.
III. Warm up : Bingo.

- T models , Ss’ repetition : Chorus – individual.

Dialogue a :
T uses the picture and sets the scence : - Who’s this ?
- Who are they ?
- T acts out the dialogue.
Ss listen to the tape twice.
Ss’ repetition : Chorally.
Ss work in 3 groups : Miss Hoa, Nga and Lan.
@. Dialogue b :
T uses the picture and introduces the dialogue b.( Steps as dialogue a )
@. Model sentences :
T elicits the model sentences and reads them. Ss’ repetition : chorally.
T writes on the board.
- Concept Check :
* Meaning :
* Form : How old are you ?
I m + cardinal number.
* Use : Asking about age.
* Pronunciation :
- Check understanding : Now we can say :
“ How old is you ? ” ( No )
are ( Yes )
“ I is twelve.” ( No )
am ( Yes )
Note : How are you ? Greeting.
How old are you ? Ask about age.
4. Practice : Picture drill
- T uses these cards :
T runs through the numbers.
T hangs the first word cue and models.
Eg: 1) How old are you ?
Ss’ repetition : chorally.
2) I’m twelve.
Ss’ repetition : chorally.
T – Ss, Ss –T
S – S : open pairs , close pairs.
3. Practice : Bingo! ( C5 p.19 )
Numbers 0 – 20.
T gets Ss to brainstorm the numbers and puts them on the BB
Ss each draw 9 squares on a piece of paper and write any 9 numbers between 0 and 20 in the squares.

T reads the numbers in a mixed order like this:
10, 8, 7, 12, 16, 5, 2, 1, 0, 11, 13, 15, 19, 20, 3, 16, 4, 9.
Ss listen and put a stick next to the number they hear.
IV. Homework :
Learn C1,3 by heart.
Do B2,3,4 p. 8,9,10.
