Lesson 25: Review of the Past simple tense
Objectives
By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to:
Use the verbs in past simple tense correctly.
Change the verbs into past form (regular and irregular verbs).
Pronouce verbs in “ed” endings.

SS may have difficulty in forming and remembering irregular verbs.

1.Warm-up
-Ask :
How was your trip?
What did you do?
What did you eat?
Did you swim?
Answer T’s question.
2. Presentation
- Ask SS to write on the board the form of past simple tense.
- Ask SS to give examples.
*Form:
Negative: S + Ved +O.
Positive: S + did + not + V +O.
Question: Did + S +V +O? Yes, S+ did. No, S+ didn’t.
Question words: WH + did +S +V +O?
Eg: We started at 7 o’clock.
We took a lot of photograph.
The weather was heautiful.
- Ask SS to present the use of past simple tense
* Use:
Use the simple past to talk about finished actions in the past.
- Ask SS to tell the way forming Ved and give examples
*Verbs:
- Add “ed”
Irregular verbs.
* Note: To be: were/was
Write on the board.
Tell the way forming Ved
Practice
-Ask SS to do excercises.
(T prepared EX in advanced)
- Give feedback.
Do EX
Take note and correct EX
Consolidation
-Revise The form, use of the past simple tense and form of Ved.
5. Homework
- Ask SS to do EX (Handouts)
6. Comment
T should prepare more extra confusing excercises
And prepare a list of irregular verbs.
SS retell the form and the use of the past simple tense .
