1.The aims of the lesson
a. Knowleges:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to greet and introduce a new friend, greet and respond to the new friend
- For weak students : do some simple exercises to greet and introduce a new friend greet and respond to the new friend
- For good students : do some difficult exercises to greet and introduce a new friend greet and respond to the new friend
- Structures : Hello,.... Nice to see you again . This is our new classmate
Nice to meet you,...
Nice to meet you, too
b. Skills : concentrate on writing and speaking skills.
c. Education : Educate students to learn hard and to be friendly
2.Preparations
a.Teacher : extra boards, examples , exercises.

* Presentation (15’)
Present the forms of the structure to greet, and introduce a new friend, greet and respond to the greetings
Explain the use of each one
Ask ss to listen and repeat after the teacher
Ask some ss to read and correct
Remark and correct
Make examples on the board
* Practice (20’)
Divide the class into 2 types : weak ss and good ss.
Give two types of exercises to ss and ask ss to work in pairs to play roles
Ask ss to practice in pairs before the class
Ask the others to correct and give out the correct answers.
* Production (6’)
Ask ss to write their own dialogues in their book

3. Exercise
For weak students :
Make up short dialogues to:
- Greet a friend when back to school
- Introduce a new friend
- Greet a new friend
- Respond to a new friend’s greeting
For good students :
Make up a full dialogue between 3 people to greet and introduce a new friend
Listen and correct
Keys: Ss’ answers
Ss write their dialogues in the book
Listen and answer
d. Homework (2’)
- Learn by heart the structures.
- Make another dialogue in the book.
- Prepare for the next lesson : ask and answer about the distances
