Lesson 1: INTRODUCTION ( p1 )
I. Aims:
- To introduce the textbook- English 10
- To introduce the way of testing.
- To set up some class regulations.
- To give a fifteen- minute test.

Game: Touch and guess.
- Get sts to work in two groups of three to take part in the game.
- Rules: Sts have to have their eyes closed and touch things given in the limited time and say aloud what they are as they think. If one sts in the group can find out what the thing is , their partners may help to touch and guess out. Which group guess out more the right things, they win.
- Things given may be a pen, pencil , book , orange, chalk , clock, picture ect...
1. Textbook introduction:
- Teacher introduces the textbook: English 10
a. Contents: - Six themes:
+ You and me
+ Education
+ Community
+ Nature and the environment
+ Recreation.
+ People and places.
- Sixteen units.
b. The Structure of the book: - There are sixteen units . In each unit , there are five main parts or five skills.
+ Reading
+ Speaking
+ Listening
+ Writing
+ Language focus:
- Pronunciation.
- Grammar and vocabulary.
2. The system of testing:
- Teacher gives some instructions on how the test may be structured and some principles when doing tests.
2.1. Fifteen- minutes Test:
- A fifteen - minute test may be an oral or written test and focus on any skills that sts learn, but most of them are writing or grammar.
2.2. Fourteen- minute Test:
- A fourteen- minute test should be a written test and focus on all skills that sts learn including reading, listening, writing pronunciation and language focus.
- A fourteen- minute test will include both mutiple- choice or deductive form.
- To do listening test, sts will hear the tape or to teacher`s reading and do the task for last 10 minutes,
- Sts are not allowed to use any materials or discuss with their partners or copy during the test time, just keep quiet and do the test on their own.
- Ask sts to do a 15- minute test to check and review their knowledge
