UNIT 3
Task 1 : There are two many cues. It will take a lot of time to complete
Put students into groups (Each group will do only one sentence)
Task 2 should be removed and use time to develop Task 1 by asking students to suggest more different ways of impressing a stranger at the first meeting.
UNIT 4
Very difficult
Provide the format
Provide verbs to support
Put students into groups (Each group will write about one thing)
UNIT 7
Too complicated table
Task 2: Qusetion2 is not relevant
Reduce two columns, just remain two for comparison.
Remove Q3 and modify Q2 in Task 2

Design a quiz to check their knowledge about the desert (should be simple questions such as which animal, which types of tree, how hot it is, ……..
Ask them to work in group and answer the question “What do you want to know about the Sahara desert.
Feedback and conclude 4 headings as in the textbook.
Ask each group work on one heading and use information from the chart to write about the Sahara.
Go around to help with with verbs to finish sentences
Group presentation
Rewrite the whole text into their notebook.
UNIT 13
Task 1 & 2 – OK
Task 3 – rather difficult for average students
Don’t force students to use cues in the box of page 145.
Just ask them to follow Task 2 with two different ways.
+ Report a book they have read
+ Report a book their friends have read (after asking each other. They first have to write and make presentations orally)
UNIT 14
Rather difficult with names and reasons
Play a game to explain WWF, WHO and the UN by using their logos in Reading lesson
- Draw a table on the board
Ask students which organization they would like to work for. Then use reasons provided into correct column
- Ask and answer in pairs about their choices
- Report their choices or their partners’ choices
UNIT 15
Difficult (especially the ways of writing)
Explain the chart
Provide more detailed information
Ask and answer about questions in the textbook
(Teachers need to prepare the complete set of answers for task 1)
Put all answers on the board in random and ask them to work in group to reorder the sentences to make a passage.
Comment and highlight some verbs and phrases used to describe a chart.
