A. Lý thuyết
I. Câu chỉ ước muốn ở hiện tại
S + wish + S + V-qk
“be” đc chia là “were” với mọi chủ ngữ

Eg: I wish I were 5 years younger than him
She wishes she didn’t have to walk to school everyday
*Note: If only = I wish
Eg:I wish/ If only I were 5 years younger than him
II. Mệnh đề thời gian
- S + will + V, as soon as (ngay sau khi), when, before, by the time + S + V(htđg): Diễn tả hđ có thể sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai
Eg: We will phone you as soon as we arrive in HN
- S + will + V, while + S + V(httd)
Eg: While the children are playing soccer, we will go to the beach
III. Giới từ chỉ thời gian
1. On: Ngày trong tuần, trong tháng
Eg: On Monday morning, on my birthday, on Christmas Day, on May 1st
2. In: Tháng, năm, mùa, buổi trong ngày
Eg: in May 2008, in (the) summer, in the morning/afternoon/ evening
3. At: Chỉ giờ, thời điểm trong ngày, vào các ngày lễ
Eg: At 8 o’clock, at (mid)night, at noon, at lunchtime, at Christmas, at Easter
4. Before (trước khi)
Eg: Before 3 pm, before going to the bed
5. After (sau khi)
Eg: After 3 pm, after playing soccer
6. Between.......and.........: trong khoảng tg từến…
Eg: There is a meeting between 11 am and 1 pm
7. From …to(up totừến
Eg: He will be in VN from Monday to Friday
8. Until/Till: cho đến khi
Eg: I won’t come back (un)till 10 pm
* Note: Những trường hợp không sử dụng giới từ chỉ tg
Tomorrow, yesterday, next week/monthlast week/monthfive/ten… years ago, this morning/afternoonthat morning/afternooneveryday/week…
IV. Reported speech (Indirect speech)
1. Câu trần thuật
- “I live here with my parents” Nam said
Nam said (that) he lived there with his parents
* Động từ “say” thường đc dùng để giới thiệu trong câu gián tiếp nhưng khi cần có tân ngữ theo sau thì ta dùng “tell” hoặc “say to” thay cho “say” (Khi người nghe trực tiếp không phải là bản thân mình mà là một người khác)
Eg: “I live here with my parents” Nam said to Hoa
Nam told Hoa (that) he lived there with his parents
Nam said to Hoa (that) he lived there with his parents
Nam said Hoa (that) he lived there with his parents (sai)
2. Câu hỏi dạng đảo
C1: S(người hỏi) + asked + O(ng đc hỏi) + if/ whether..............................
C2: S(người hỏi) + wanted to know if/ whether.......................................
Eg: “Do you go to school by bike?” He asked Hoa
He asked Hoa if/whether she went to school by bike
3. Câu hỏi dạng Wh-questions
C1: S(người hỏi) + asked + O(ng đc hỏi) + what/ when/ where......................................
C2: S(người hỏi) + wanted to know + what/ where/ when...........................................
Eg: “What is your name?” A visitor asked
A visitor asked me what my name was
4. Câu mệnh lệnh, câu đề nghị : Sử dụng một trong hai cấu trúc sau:
Ask + sb + (not) + to do sth
Yêu cầu ai làm (không làm) gì

Tell + sb + (not) + to do sth
Bảo ai làm (không làm) gì

Eg: - “Can/Could/Will/Would…you give me your pen?” He asked Hoa (He said to Hoa)
He asked/told Hoa to give him her pen
- “(Don’t) throw my books away,” She said
She asked/told me (not
