Lesson 1 : A1,3,4,5- Friends
A. Objectives :
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
- Greet people and respond to the greeting
- Introduce new friends
B . Preparations :Textbook, cassette, pictures.
C. Procedure :

Warm up
- T introduces the name then ask Ss about their name.
- T asks something about Ss’ new school year:
(?) Do you have any new friends this school year?
(?) What do you say to your new friends on the first school day? ( “Nice to see/ meet you”)
(?)What do you say to your new friends when you first meet after the summer holiday? (“Nice to see/ meet you again”)
(?) Are you happy to be back again?
Presentation + Practice
A1a: Listen. Then practice with a partner:
* Introducing the lesson.
- T gives the picture of three students
Ba and Nga are old friends. They meet each other after the summer holiday. There is a new friend in their class. Her name is Hoa. They are very happy.
* Sts listen to the dialogue
+ The first time: books closed
+ The second time: Sts listen and repeat after the tape.
- Sts work in groups of three: Making the dialogue with book and then without book.
- T checks some groups.
A1b:
- T shows the second picture, points to the picture and asks
(?) Who is she?
(?) Is Hoa the new classmate? ( Yes, Hoa is a new classmate)
After talking to Nga and Ba, she comes to her class. She meets Nam. She wants to make friend with Nam, so she says greeting to Nam. (Listen to the dialogue)
- Ss listen to the dialogue two times then work in groups of three: Make the dialogue with book and then without book.
- T checks some groups.
- T asks Ss to look at the picture in page 10 and asks some questions:
(?) What is the new girl’s name?
(?) What class is she in?
(?) Who is also in class 7A?
- Ss answer the questions, T corrects if necessary
A3: Listen. Then practice with a partner:
(?) How do you say greeting to your friends when you meet him? Hi/ Hello
(?) How do you say greeting to your teachers or an elder person when you meet him or her?
Good morning/ Good afternoon/ Good evening….
* Introducing the new lesson:
- T shows the picture of two people: Mr Tan is Nga’s teacher and Nga.
* Sts listen to the dialogue
+ The first time: books closed
+ The second time: Sts listen and repeat after the tape.
- Sts work in pairs: Make the dialogue with book and then without book.
- T calls some pairs to practice in front of the class.
A4: Listen . Complete these dialogues
- T gives the sub – board (in the box of the textbook) : T helps Ss understand their meanings.
- Ss listen to each dialogue and complete it by choosing the suitable sentence or phrase to fill in the blank.
- T corrects on the second sub – board .
* Some pairs of Ss practice the dialogues in front of the class.
A5: Listen. Write the letters of the dialogues in the order you hear.
- T shows the class four pictures and reminds them about the situation of each picture.
Ex: Who are they in the picture?/ Where are they?/ What are they doing?
- Ss look at the picture and answer.
- T explains how to do this kind of exercise.
* T lets Ss listen to the dialogue once without writing anything.
- T asks Ss look at the pictures again and listen one more time then write the numbers under the pictures on the board.
- T gives the correct answers.
Production
- Ss play roles the dialogues
IV. Homework
- Learn the new words and the structures by heart.
- Practice the dialogues in part B4
- Prepare A2 (page 11)

- Nice to meet/see you: dùng khi hai người gặp nhau lần đầu và được giới thiệu để làm quen.
